Six articles. Six days. One truth that has quietly reshaped how I think about God, faith, and daily life:
“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
Now that The Light Series has drawn to a close, I’ve been looking back—not just at what was written, but at what God was doing in my own heart while writing. This wasn’t simply a study of words on a page. It became an experience of His light meeting me in unexpected ways.
Why Light? Why Now?
It all started with one observation: we often pray for God to give us light when Scripture declares that God is light. That small shift—between having and being—opened up an entirely new way of seeing Him.
And as the writing unfolded, I realized this wasn’t just about theology. It was about something deeply practical: How do we encounter God in the dark seasons of life?
The answer isn’t that God sends us flashes of light when He chooses. The answer is that He Himself is the Light, and no darkness can overcome Him.
What I Learned About Light
Over six days, each article revealed a facet of His nature:
Light exposes—not to shame us, but to heal us.
Light guides—not with the whole map, but with the next step.
Light warms—melting the cold, hardened places in our hearts.
Light gives life—creating vitality where only death and despair had reigned.
And together they point to this: Light is not just something God does—it’s who He is.
The Personal Shifts
This series didn’t just change my writing—it changed my prayers.
I’ve noticed myself asking less for God to “shed light” and more about how I can stand in the Light He already is. I’ve stopped begging for clarity as if it’s rare. Instead, I’m learning to trust that His presence naturally illuminates the path ahead.
Even exposure feels different now. The light that reveals my sin is the same light that offers to cleanse it.
A Conversation With You
But what about you?
Which part of God’s light resonated most deeply with you?
Did you connect most with the exposing, guiding, warming, or life-giving nature of Light?
Has it changed how you pray or how you view your dark places?
I’d love to hear your reflections. These truths grow stronger when they’re shared.
Looking Ahead
This series convinced me of something: some truths are too rich for one-off articles. Declarations like “God is love” or “God is holy” deserve the same kind of deep dive.
I’m already sketching out ideas for future series—but I’d love to know: What aspects of God’s character would you like me to explore next?
Thank You
Thank you for walking through these six days with me. Thank you for letting me wrestle, reflect, and share.
And remember:
The Light that exposes also heals.
The Light that guides also warms.
The Light that illuminates also gives life.
And He shines steadily in your life—whether you feel it today or not.
That truth does not change. But our ability to rest in it can grow.
For me, I pray for God’s light to shine through me for others to see and to direct to God. Then they can also be his light to guide others to him. As I understand my calling, it is my job to be one of many to show others the way to God.
